Bathrobe for Cabbage Patch Doll


What you need

  • 1/3 yrd Ultra Cuddle Fabric (or Terry, Flannel or Fleece fabric)

How to make the bathrobe

1. Download free pattern here.

    Make sure you have page scaling set to none !

2. Sew shoulder seams (1/4" seam, as all seams)
 

3. Add sleeves


4. Cut a strip 29" x 3" and fold in half lengthwise (wrong sides together)

5. Sew strip all around front (right sides together)
    Cut off any excess

6. Hem sleeves with a 1/2" hem

7. Sew arm and side seams together

8. Hem bottom with a 1/2" hem



For the belt

1. Cut a strip 29" x 3" and fold in half lengthwise (right sides together)

2. Sew one short side and the long side

3. Turn right side out (I used a small dowel)

4. Fold unfinished end inwards and top stitch shut

5. Attach center of belt to center on back at waist level (optional)


You are done !!!

T-shirt for Cabbage Patch Doll


See tutorial for shorts

What you need

  • knit fabric 
  • knit fabric for neck cuff (optional)
  • velcro

How to make the t-shirt

1. Download free pattern here.

    For private use only !!!
    Make sure you have page scaling set to none !

2. Cut pattern for short sleeves where indicated.

    I am going to use the PJ top pictures to explain the steps.


3. Sew shoulder seams together


4. Hem sleeve with a 1/4" sleeve

5. If you want a hemmed neck, just hem with a 1/4" hem.
    If you want a cuffed neck, cut 1/4" off all around neck opening on shirt
    (to make neck opening bigger)
    Cut a 1 1/4" x 7 1/2" piece from matching knit and fold in half
    (make sure it stretches lengthwise) 
    Sew onto neck opening


6. Sew sleeve into shirt

7. Sew side seams on both sides

8. Hem bottom with a 1/4" hem

9. Add velcro

Shorts for Cabbage Patch Doll

What you need

  • knit fabric
  • 1/4" elastic

How to make the shorts

1. Download free pattern here.

    This pattern is copyrighted by me, ReadCreations.
    For private use only !!!
    Make sure you have page scaling set to none !

2. Cut pattern pants at indicated line for shorts

    I am going to use the pictures from the PJ pants to explain the steps.

3.  Take both leg pieces and sew front of pants together (front and back are the same cut).


4.  Double fold the waist (wide enough for the elastic to go through) and sew.
 

5. Thread elastic through just created waist and pin both ends of the elastic in place.


6. Hem both pant legs with a 1/4" hem (fold up1/4").
 

7. Sew back part of pants together, make sure you sew the elastic into the seam.
 

8. Sew leg inseam all around.

You are done !!!

PJ Top for Cabbage Patch doll



What you need

  • knit fabric
  • matching knit fabric for cuffs (optional)
  • Velcro

How to make the shirt

1. Download free pattern here.

    Make sure you have page scaling set to none !

2. Sew shoulder seams together


3. If you want hemmed sleeves go to step 4  
    If you want cuffs on the sleeves, cut a 1 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece from matching knit.
    It needs to stretch along the long side.
    Fold in half lengthwise. Sew onto sleeve stretching evenly.
    Repeat for other sleeve.

4. If you want hemmed sleeves, hem sleeve with a 1/4" sleeve

5. If you want a hemmed neck, just hem with a 1/4" hem.
    If you want a cuffed neck, cut 1/4" off all around neck opening on shirt
    (to make neck opening bigger)
    Cut a 1 1/4" x 7 1/2" piece from matching knit and fold in half
    (make sure it stretches lengthwise) 
    Sew onto neck opening


6. Sew sleeve into shirt

PJ Pants for Cabbage Patch Doll

What you need

  • knit fabric
  • knit fabric of matching color for cuffs (optional)
  • 1/4" elastic 11" long

 

How to make the pants

1. Download free pattern here.

    For private use only !!!
    Make sure you have page scaling set to none !

2. Take both leg pieces and sew front of pants together (front and back are the same cut).

3. Double fold the waist (wide enough for the elastic to go through) and sew.

4. Thread elastic through just created waist and pin both ends of the elastic in place.

5. If you want cuffs on the bottom of the pants, do the following:
    Cut a 1 1/4" x 6" strip from matching knit (has to stretch along the long side)
    Fold in half lengthwise and sew to bottom of leg, stretching cuff evenly to fit.
    Repeat for other leg.
    Skip step 6
   
6. If you want the bottom of you pants hemmed, do the following:
    Hem both pant legs with a 1/4" hem (fold up1/4").

7. Sew back part of pants together, make sure you sew the elastic into the seam.

8. Sew leg inseam all around.

You are done !!!
